Care Instructions

CAN I SHOWER OR SWIM WITH MY STAINLESS STEEL PVD PLATED JEWELRY?

For our PVD plated stainless steel jewelry which is waterproof - you can shower, swim and engage in sports. No tarnishing or fading of the plating guaranteed.

Physical vapor deposition, or PVD, is a technique that involves “blasting” the gold onto our pieces. During the process, the material moves from a condensed vapor phase that to a thick solid gold film and gives the appearance of solid gold products. Through this process we achieve:

  • Durability of around 10 years and more
  • Corrosion resistant and Non-fading
  • 316L Stainless Steel | Hypoallergenic, Lead and Nickel Free
  • 1.5 Microns thick coating

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY 925 SILVER JEWELRY?

We suggest you remove your 925 Silver jewelry while showering, swimming and exercising. Please avoid contact with perfumes, lotions or hair products as they contain chemicals and oils that can increase the wear on your pieces. Do not use harsh chemicals, bleach, oil, jewelry cleaners, or polishing cloths, this can affect the finishing.

MY JEWELRY IS TURNING COLOR, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

Every person’s unique skin oils react differently to certain metals and plating. We are not responsible for your skin's reaction to our products. Gold- and silver-plated jewelry will turn naturally over time, and there is no way to reverse this. You can prolong the life of your MeloMelo pieces by following our care recommendations.

Our stainless steel pieces are resistant to tarnish and fading. Those pieces will look the same after wearing them daily for years.

WHAT SHOULD I USE TO CLEAN MY JEWELRY?

The best way to clean our Stainless Steel PVD Plated Jewelry is to clean it in warm water with hand soap. For 925 Silver Jewelry we recommend using a flannel cotton or silver cloth to polish the jewelry to avoid scratching.
